Neil Taylor, Suresh Bawa and Jason Guy completed the 16-mile hike from Birmingham Children's Hospital to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton last month in aid of the Promise Dreams charity, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and New Cross Hospital.

The trio were supported along the way along the Birmingham Canal by Wolves legend Steve Bull, whose foundation was also supporting the three charities.

On Tuesday the walkers were joined by Bully in presenting money to the fundraising teams at Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital and at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Neil, 50, was inspired to undertake the walk as BCH has cared for his 14-year-old daughter, Kiahna, who has undergone five heart operations, while Jason’s daughter was treated by the neo-natal unit at New Cross Hospital.

The walk was originally scheduled to take place on New Year’s Eve but was delayed due to Covid.

It is just the latest fundraiser for Neil, who has generated more than £150,000 for BCH, through support at his pub The Fox at Shipley.

“We raised just over £10,000 which will be split equally between the three charities,” said Neil.

“The money for BCH will go to its heart unit and the money for New Cross will help the Neo-natal unit.

“Promised Dreams fulfils the final wishes of terminally ill children.

“I feel lucky to be able to give a little bit back as I have never been able to thank BCH enough.

“I would also like to thank everyone who sponsored us.”
