Ameila Price spoke on Sky News about how lockdown was affecting school life

Along with other students from across the country, Amelia Price was invited to have her say on Sky News about how she felt the current situation was impacting her education and any particular worries or issues she had.

During the programme For Your Information, the 12-year-old expressed her general concerns that school work was "suffering", but went on to praise her school, saying it had "prepared everything really well".

Amelia, who is in Year 7 at Bridgnorth Endowed School, said: "I think school work is suffering a little bit. Also there are a lot of clubs being cancelled, like homework clubs and afterschool clubs.

"But our school has prepared everything really well, not like some of my friends' schools, who are still waiting for their online learning."

With discussions ongoing to implement rapid coronavirus testing in schools, Amelia said she would welcome the service, which would offer reassurance to those in educational settings.

She added: "I think it's good to be having tests when we're at school as you'd find out if you've got Covid or not."

This episode was not the first time that Amelia has appeared on the children's TV show.

Since taking part in an item about last year’s floods, she has been involved in several Sky interviews, covering a wide range of news topics.
