Five further deaths of coronavirus patients at Shropshire hospitals

A further five patients who tested positive for coronavirus have died at hospitals in Shropshire.

Figures from NHS England confirmed that the patients died in the care of Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust, which runs Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

It brings the death toll up to 398 at Shropshire’s health trusts since the pandemic began.

In total there have been 369 deaths at SaTH, six at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry and 23 at Shropshire Community Health Trust.

Office for National Statistics data shows 160 people are suspected to have died with the virus in Powys.
