Another seven Covid deaths in the county
Another seven people have died with Covid at the county's major hospitals.
NHS England confirmed that all seven patients had died while in the care of Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust (SaTH).
It means that 437 people have now died with the virus at county NHS Trusts – 407 at SaTH, six at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry, and 24 at Shropshire Community Health Trust.
According to the Office for National Statistics 227 people have died in county care homes with Covid – 166 in Shropshire and 61 in Telford & Wrekin.
The number of Covid deaths in Powys has also risen significantly in the past week, with the latest ONS data showing that 173 people have now died, an increase of 13 on last week.
