Bridgnorth Medical Practice is encouraging those with an appointment already booked at a practice to keep that date for a jab, but said those wanting to book at a larger vaccination centre further afield could do so through NHS England.

It comes after the practice at Northgate Health Centre reported a high number of calls from people who had received a vaccination letter from NHS England.

A spokesperson from the practice said: "The government is obviously keen for the Covid vaccine to reach as many people as possible, as soon as possible.

"NHS England is sending out letters to invite patients to have their vaccine at local mass vaccination centres.

"If you already have an appointment booked at your practice or a local practice vaccination centre, please keep this appointment.

"If you wish to wait and have your appointment at your practice or a local practice centre, that is also fine, you will be invited in due course.

"However, if you wish to take up the offer of a vaccine sooner at a larger vaccination centre, please follow the guidance in the letter from NHS England."
