No new coronavirus deaths at Shropshire hospitals

There have been no further coronavirus deaths at Shropshire hospitals reported today.

NHS England figures today show there have been no further coronavirus deaths at the county's hospitals.

Yesterday the death of one patient was reported. They had been in the care of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, which runs the county's two acute hospitals – Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Telford's Princess Royal Hospital.

The total number of people to have died with coronavirus at county NHS trusts is now 583.

Of the total, 542 have been recorded at SaTH, 34 at Shropshire Community Health Trust and seven at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.

A total of 287 people have died with Covid-19 at Shropshire care homes, according to the latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures.

The UK in total has reported a further 52 deaths today, bringing the total to 125,516.

The death figure of 52 is the lowest since early October.
