Three more coronavirus hospital deaths

Three coronavirus deaths have been reported by the county's acute hospital trust over the weekend.

The patients were being treated at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust(SaTH), which runs Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Telford's Princess Royal Hospital.

The announcement brings the total to 545 deaths recorded at SaTH since the start of the pandemic. No new deaths have been recorded at Shropshire Community Health Trust where the figure remains at 34 and at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry were the figure remains at seven deaths.

In Powys, there have been 242 deaths reported according to the latest Office for National Statistics (ONS).

A total of 287 people have died with the virus at Shropshire care homes ONS figures also show.

Across the UK there were 64 new deaths announced taking the total to 125,580.

Meanwhile, 24,453,221, people have now had a first vaccination jab and 1,610,580 people have received their second dose.
