No new Covid-19 deaths - while jab programme progresses

No further deaths have been reported at any of the county's health trusts where almost 600 patients with coronavirus have died.

Meanwhile the vaccination programme in the Midlands has seen 5,103,206 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine administered, while

538,202 second doses have been carried out.

In England 29,433,531 vaccinations have been carried out – including first and second doses. The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and March 30.

The county has recorded 595 trust deaths - 554 deaths at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, 34 at Shropshire Community Health Trust and seven at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.

Shropshire care homes have reported 219 Covid related deaths and in Telford & Wrekin 77 care home deaths.

In Powys 253 deaths have happened, ONS data shows.
