Stretch without Shropshire hospital Covid deaths continues

There continue to have been no new Covid deaths at the county's NHS trusts.

NHS England figures confirm there have been no further Covid deaths in the county

The latest figures from NHS England show that the last patient to die with Coronavirus at one of the county's NHS trusts was on March 21.

It means that the number of people to have died with Covid at county NHS trusts remains 595 – 554 at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, 34 at Shropshire Community Health Trust, and seven at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.

Another 294 people have died with the virus in county care homes, while 265 people have died in Powys.

Across the UK the death toll rose by 13 to 127,100.

Meanwhile, 33,445,922 vaccinations have been carried out across England to date – including first and second doses.

In the Midlands, 5,272,223 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 1,103,899 second doses have been carried out.

The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and April 11.
