No further Covid-19 deaths at county care homes or hospitals, latest figures show
There have been no further Covid-19 deaths at care homes or hospitals across Shropshire, the latest data reveals.
NHS England figures confirmed no additional coronavirus deaths at any of the county's NHS trusts today, and a weekly death count at care homes released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) every Tuesday also shows no further deaths.
It means that the Covid death toll for the county's hospitals remains at 595, with the last death recorded 30 days ago.
Since the pandemic began 554 people have died with Covid at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH), which runs the county's two acute hospitals – Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Telford's Princess Royal Hospital.
A total of 34 have been recorded at Shropshire Community Health Trust, and seven at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.
Meanwhile, there have been 296 coronavirus deaths at county care homes, including 219 at homes in Shropshire Council's area and 77 in Telford & Wrekin's.
In Powys, the Covid death toll stands at 266.
The total number of vaccinations given across the UK has reached 43,457,910 – of which 33,032,120 were first doses and 10,425,790 were second.
