No further Shropshire coronavirus deaths over weekend

There have been no further coronavirus deaths in Shropshire hospitals this weekend.

It means the number of people to have died with Covid at county NHS trusts remains 595 – 554 at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, 34 at Shropshire Community Health Trust, and seven at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.

The number of people to have died in county care homes remains 296 – 219 in Shropshire and 77 in Telford & Wrekin.

The number of people to have died in Powys with the virus is 267.

NHS England confirmed a further three deaths on Sunday, meaning 86,964 have now died in England's hospitals after testing positive for Covid.

A total of 41,730,517 vaccinations have been carried out across England to date – including first and second doses.

In the Midlands, 5,550,858 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 2,379,828 second doses have been carried out.

The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and May 1.
