The criteria for payments for people asked to isolate has been widened.

The authority said the criteria had been broadened to include parents and guardians of a child or young person who has been told to self-isolate,

A spokesman for the council said: "We’ve broadened criteria for the £500 discretionary Test and Trace self-isolation payment, for applicants suffering financial hardship that don’t meet the main national scheme’s criteria.

"The scheme has also now been extended to include parents and guardians of a child or young person who has been told to self-isolate, where the parent or guardian meet the criteria.
