WATCH: Film-student Jason creates Covid cartoon to engage children
A Shropshire film student has released his own animation in the hopes of encouraging children to keep following Covid rules and to take up the offer of vaccinations when they are eventually given.
Jason Wright, from Telford, designed his own comic strip, Apples, last year.
Jason, who is autistic and lives with half a heart, created Apples to express his feelings and in the hope of giving young people a way to relate to characters and issues including relationships and maturity.
Now he has released a short, voiced animation explaining hygiene practices and encouraging vaccine take-up.
Watch the animation here:
Jason, 21, said: "Through cartoons you can explain things to kids so much easier.
"But I'm not treating children like they're idiots. I want it to be something they can relate to.
"I am using my cartoon characters to help kids understand the importance of the vaccine and how serious Covid is."
