Another coronavirus death announced at Shropshire hospital
Another patient with coronavirus has died at a Shropshire hospital – one of five new deaths to be announced in the UK.
The patient died in the care of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, where 555 deaths have now been reported.
The trust runs Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
There have been a further 34 deaths at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust and seven at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.
There have also been 296 deaths from Covid at county care homes.
According to data from the Office for National Statistics, 271 people have died with the virus in Powys.
The latest five deaths announced in the UK on Monday brings the death toll to 127,684.
