A fire destroys the old Grand Cinema in Tan Bank, Wellington, on June 14, 1995. It was by that time Factory Furniture Direct. The Grand had started off as a roller skating rink and then turned into a cinema, closing in the mid-1970s - information on the internet puts the date as October 25, 1975.
