The original caption to this January 1960 picture from our archives explains: "Schoolboy Edward Thomas, of Roman Road, Shrewsbury, blows an instrument which looks like a hunting horn. In fact, it is an orchestral horn - now obsolete - which was used by a member of Edward's family 150 years ago and has been handed down."
