The Square in Ellesmere, and that lamp-post looks to be a popular place for locals to hang out. This is the junction of Cross Street, to the left, and High Street, as seen in a postcard franked on July 6, 1914. The store on the corner back then was ‘Hudson’. The postcard comes from the collection of Ray Farlow of Bridgnorth.
