Pictures From The Archive – October 2Welcome to this week's collection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished Oct 2, 2020Although this picture from yesteryear is unidentified, Frank Foxall of Telford who loaned it to us thinks it shows a group of Bridgnorth octogenarians who used to meet at the cricket ground. Seated second from left is Bridgnorth undertaker Jim Howard, the maternal grandfather of Frank's wife Joyce, whose maiden name was Truelove. Joyce said: "He lived in St Mary's Street and was an undertaker. He made the coffins. When I was a little girl I said 'Granddad, can you make one for me?' He said 'No, I won't.' I thought 'How mean!'. But he did make one for his wife, my nan, to use as an ironing board."
