Pictures From The Archive – January 22Welcome to this week's selection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished Jan 22, 2021Last updated Jan 22, 2021Disappeared Frankwell. This photo is from the collection of Shrewsbury historian and author David Trumper, but came originally from Dr Tim Mear. David reckoned it was taken around 1910, and certainly after 1907 because the Co-op is in the timber framed-building on the corner, which used to be the String of Horses pub. This building was eventually dismantled in 1970 to make way for Frankwell's big roundabout and was re-erected at Avoncroft buildings museum near Bromsgrove. J. F. Owen is written on the back of the cart – that was John Francis Owen.
