Pictures From The Archives – May 7Welcome to this week's selection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished May 7, 2021Happy schooldays in Shrewsbury, although going by the expressions, they were perhaps not quite as happy as they might have been. This is Wyle Cop School, and the picture is marked "Mother x in front row" – the girl marked with an x, front second from left, was Alice Pemberton, also known apparently as Alice Young Pemberton. Her son was Neville Nelson, and this photo was originally loaned to us back in 2003 by his widow, Mrs Pirkko Nelson. While the date of the picture is not known it is perhaps around 1902.
