Pictures From The Archive – September 24Welcome to this week's selection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished Sep 24, 2021This may have been a jokey entry in a hospital Sunday event in Ellesmere about 100 years judging by the signs, which unfortunately cannot be read in full as some words are obscured, but there's one that reads "Ellesmere City Fathers" and on the horse-drawn carriage is, so far as can be read, "U.D.C. (i.e. urban district council) Hospital Sunday 19.. . We cannot keep in st.. However we may tr.. our dignity as council... on horsepower must .. " Other signs are "First Aid," "More Land," and "More Houses." This is a postcard from the collection of Ray Farlow of Bridgnorth.
