The opening of Primark in the Charles Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury will take place this autumn.

Signs for the store have been installed in a number of locations around the town.

The most prominent is on the side of the rear of the shopping centre where it backs on to Raven Meadows.

The store, which has taken over a number of vacant units within the shopping centre including Dorothy Perkins, TK Maxx and JJB Sports, has been undergoing a massive renovation and refitting programme.

Since work began last summer, McLaughlin & Harvey has undertaken a major refurbishment of the public areas of the shopping centre, including new floors, ceilings and lighting.

The opening of the new store, which was scheduled for this spring and has cost £12 million, will create more than 100 full and part time jobs.

The 30,600sq ft discount clothing retail store will have men’s, women’s and children’s departments.
