Bikers plan Shrewsbury meet and greet
Inspired by a recent charity event, a group of motorcyclists are planning a meet and greet to encourage fellow bikers to be safe and secure on the road.
Shropshire and Powys Advanced Riders (RoSPA), Shropshire Advanced Motorists and Motorcyclists (SAMM) and Shropshire and Staffordshire Blood Bikes are planning a ride safety day in company with the Safer Roads Partnership at Montford Bridge picnic area off the A5, near Shrewsbury on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
They have decided to hold the event after being involved in the recent Bike4Life ride which raised over £70,000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
SaPAR and SAMM are offering free assessed rides along with information on how to become an advanced rider which is a qualification that anyone who wishes to become a rider for the Blood Bikes needs to have.
Advanced riding is a skill that can help to make riding more pleasurable, less tiring and reduce accidents and injuries. Both SaPAR and SAMM are dedicated to promoting safer riding and the Road Safety Partnership supports both groups in their aim to reduce road casualties.
All riders with a full motorcycle licence are welcome to come along and meet the groups.
