Cyclists head out in to the countryside
Cycling UK Shropshire has four rides on offer from Shrewsbury this coming week, two of which are on Sunday.
One is a car assisted ride to Bunbury and this will be about 55 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about 11 mph, with a café or pub stop for lunch. Riders should meet at 9.30am at Prees Heath Public Car Park. The other ride on Sunday is a ride to Ellesmere and the Franktons and this will be about 40 miles in length, riding at an average of nine miles per hour. As the town centre will have the barriers up ready for the Cycling Grand Prix, this ride will start at 9.30am from the Woodfield Road Traffic Crossing, Shrewsbury.
On Tuesday there is a hilly ride to Cardington and this will be about 40 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about 10 mph, with a pub stop for lunch. The ride starts at 10am and cyclists should meet under Greyfriars Bridge in The Quarry.
On June 1 there is a mystery ride to a destination to be decided on the day. This will be about 40 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about nine mph with a cafe or pub stop for lunch. The ride starts at 10am and cyclists should meet under Greyfriars Bridge in The Quarry.
