Bikers head out for cycle rides
Cycling UK Shropshire has six rides on offer from Shrewsbury this coming week, two of which are on Sunday.
One is a ride to Bromlow Callow and this will be about 40 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about 10 mph, with a picnic stop for lunch. The ride starts at 9.30am from The Square, Shrewsbury. The other ride on Sunday is a car assisted ride to the Horseshoe Pass, near Llangollen. Riders should meet in the Caffi Wylfa car park at Chirk for a 9.30am start. This will be a hilly ride, about 40 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about 10mph, with a café or pub stop for lunch.
There are three rides on June 27, two of which start from Shrewsbury. One is a hilly ride to Chirk and this will be about 60 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about 11mph, with a cafe stop for lunch.
The other ride from Shrewsbury is to a mystery destination, to be chosen on the day, and this will be about 40 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about 10mph, with a café or pub stop for lunch. Both rides start at 10am and cyclists should meet under Greyfriars Bridge in The Quarry.
The third ride on June 27 is a car assisted ride to Lake Vyrnwy. This will be a very easy paced flat ride of two circuits of the lake, which is about 24 miles, with food in between laps. Riders should meet at the bottom car park at Lake Vyrnwy at 10.30am for coffee and the ride will start at 10.45am.
On June 29 there is a hilly ride to Cardington and this will be about 40 miles in length, riding at an average speed of about 10mph, with a pub stop for lunch. The ride starts at 10am and cyclists should meet under Greyfriars Bridge in The Quarry.
