Cars leave the road and end up in hedges in a night of fog and crashes in Shropshire

Fire and rescue crews dashed to three crashes in the dark and foggy gloom of Shropshire.

In two incidents vehicles ended up in hedges and a third turned turtle leading to a busy time for rescue crews.

Three fire crews, including the rescue tender, from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Wellington, were sent with an operations officer to reports of a crash on the A458, at Stanmore, near Bridgnorth, just before 5pm on Friday.

They found that one car had left the road and had come to rest in a hedgerow.

There is no further information on any persons involved.

Crews sent their incident stop message about half an hour later.

A fire crew from Bishop's Castle was scrambled to Owls Lane, Lydham, at just before 6pm on Friday.

They found that one car had left the road and had come to rest on its roof in a hedge.

No persons were trapped and the crew did not need to use any equipment.

There is no more information on the persons involved.

At five minutes to 9pm on Friday police and fire crews were sent to Minsterley following a report of a road traffic collision in the village near Shrewsbury.

They discovered that the incident involved one vehicle on its roof but no persons were trapped.

Fire crews used small tools to make the vehicle safe and left the incident in the hands of the police.
