Several taxis had their windows smashed in Johnstown, which is between Chirk and Wrexham north of Oswestry, on the Sunday before Christmas.

“Do you recognize any of these youths?” said a spokesperson for Wrexham Rural policing team on Facebook.

“CCTV shows a group of youths at approximately 1:50am on Sunday December 22.

“There were incidents of criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in Johnstown.

“Several taxis had their windows smashed, causing significant disruption and concern in our community.”

The area was covered by a dispersal order between 4pm on Sunday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 24. It lead to an increased police presence in areas of Rhos, Ponciau and Johnstown.

Officers said it was in response to a rise in the number of incidents since the end of October. Incidents happened when the dispersal order was in place.

Police say they had received a number of reports of a large group of youths intimidating members of the public by throwing stones and eggs at vehicles and houses, theft and causing a nuisance at retail premises.

If you have any information about those involved, you should contact the police on North Wales Police via 101 or their website, quoting reference Q191748. Alternatively, you can email PCSO Alison Heron on alison.heron@northwales.police.uk.
