John Raymond Jones, of The Rovings, in Coalport, Telford, told magistrates that he lives four miles from a bus stop and needs to be able to drive the children.

Jones responded that he was “guilty, I suppose” when he appeared at Telford Magistrates Court accused of failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis.

Prosecutor Kate Price told magistrates on Tuesday that police saw a Ford Kuga being driven “erratically” on the Broseley to Coalport road on November 30, 2024.

Officers said that the car was “rolling down the road with no control” and Jones was “stumbling” when he was stopped.
