'Dismissed' - Inspector rules out redevelopment of Anvil transport cafe site near Whitchurch for these reasons
A planning inspector has dismissed a site owner's appeal to redevelop a former transport cafe off the A41 near Whitchurch.

Archers Transport Ltd, which had bought the site of the former Anvil Cafe at Prees Higher Heath in 2023, appealed to the Planning Inspectorate after Shropshire Council had rejected an application.
Agents for Archers Transport had said they had received a “positive indication” from the planning authority that while housing would not be acceptable, a commercial use was “acceptable in principle, noting the former use as a transport café and service centre.”
But the proposal proved too much for the council and a planning inspector agreed.
The plan was for a new cafe and facilities building with associated landscape works, trailer and car parking and servicing areas.
