24 hour siege: Armed police and negotiators at Wolverhampton property with man barricaded inside

Police were still on the scene of an incident in Wolverhampton on Saturday morning, involving a man barricaded inside a property.

Armed Police at scene on Moathouse lane West, Wednesfield.

West Midlands Police officers, included dedicated firearms officers, attended Moathouse Lane West, Wednesfield, at around 1pm on Friday and roads in the immediate area were cordoned off.

They also confirmed that force negotiators were still on the scene as of 9am on Saturday.

They said no one else was believed to be inside the property.

A police spokesperson added: "Neighbourhood officers are in the area to offer reassurance and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the situation safely."

Armed police still on the scene on Saturday morning at around 10am.

Councillor Ciaran Brackenridge for Wednesfield South said: "It is extremely sad and concerning to hear about the ongoing events occurring on Moathouse Lane West.

"As a local representative I truly hope this matter can be resolved as soon as possible.
