Man and woman injured as car overturns near Bridgnorth

A man and a woman required hospital treatment after their car overturned near Bridgnorth today.

Police, the fire service and an ambulance were sent to the scene after the car overturned on the B4368 in Aston Eyre about 11.50am.

A man in his 60s was taken to Telford's Princess Royal Hospital, and a woman in her 60s made her own way to hospital after receiving injuries to her head and minor injuries to her hands.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 11.52am to reports of a car that had rolled over on the B4368.

"One ambulance attended the scene.

"There's a woman in her 60s who was a front seat passenger, she's got head injuries but was fully conscious throughout. She also has minor cuts to her hands.

"The patient is going to make her own way to hospital.

"We are taking a man in his 60s to the Princess Royal Hospital."

Four fire appliances including the rescue tender were sent from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Wellington. An operations officer was also in attendance.

The fire service righted and isolated the vehicle.
