Man in hospital after Bridgnorth bridge crash

A man has been taken to hospital after a lorry collided with a bridge near Bridgnorth in the early hours of the morning.

The B4176 through Stableford

Emergency services were called to the B4176 in Stableford at 3.59am, after the large goods vehicle hit a bridge.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Crews from Bridgnorth, Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington were sent to the crash.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital, and crews used winches to stabilise the vehicle whilst awaiting heavy recovery.

Environment Unit equipment from Tweedale fire station was used to prevent any contamination of nearby water course.
