Will Bagnall of The Hookfield, is warning drivers to stick to the speed limit after their dog Bear was killed by a speeding vehicle.

The driver, who caused significant injuries to the animal, drove off after the incident which took place on October 18 at around 10.30am.

"Unfortunately, Bear’s injuries were so severe that he didn’t make it," explained Mr Bagnall.

He added: "Cars do go up and down The Hookfield and other residential streets way too fast and if a child or a dog run out they do not stand a chance.

"We would like to know if anyone saw the car, which may be black, or the incident yesterday.

"We understand there may be a small chance that the driver didn’t know they hit Bear, however, even if that is the case we would like this to be a reminder to everyone to please stick to the speed limit. "
