Shops open as usual after Bridgnorth street closed over safety concerns
A town centre road is still closed due to concerns of the structural safety of a building but some shops are open as usual.
Listley Street in Bridgnorth was closed off on Friday afternoon, due to concerns about the New Market Buildings.
There was a concern about the structural safety of the buildings, and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended to see if further action was required.
The danger was identified by the building owner's contracted engineer.
On Saturday, shops such as Elegance and the shoe shop Soul were open as usual, along with others in the area.
However part of the road is still closed off and could be for another few days.
A spokesman for Shropshire Council said: "The council’s building control team has spoken with all neighbouring premises and residents to make them aware of the reasons for the closure, which is expected to be in place for the next few days."
