The initiative, led by first aid tutor Jenny Stretton, means residents will now have access to a defibrillator on Bramble Ridge.

The equipment was donated by the town’s community first responder organisation, and funding for the cabinet came from a number of donations made by residents, the Bridgnorth Lions and the Residents Association.

Jenny said: “We had to raise just over £600 to install the cabinet and thankfully people realised how important it was and we were able to have it put in.

I realised people in the area didn’t have access to one in the time scale they would need and as there are playing fields nearby and a lot of cyclists.” I started putting letters through doors and made contact with certain people and organisations.

“Thankfully we did what was needed and now have this important, life-saving equipment close by for anyone that needs it.”
