Storm Hannah brings down tree but Bridgnorth Golf Club open day still tees off
Storm Hannah brought down a tree at a golf club, but greenkeepers were able to clear it away in time for the club's open day.
The fallen tree at Bridgnorth Golf Club was discovered yesterday morning, after the storm brought vicious winds to parts of Shropshire throughout Saturday.
On the morning of their annual open day the greenkeepers, assisted by club members, cleared the remains of the tree away.
A club spokesman said it took six trailer loads to dispose of all the material.
Storm Hannah also caused the postponement of a charity event in Shrewsbury and the cancellation of a St George's weekend celebration in Telford.
