The fire service rushed to Grainger & Worrall on Stanmore Industrial Estate at about 11.25am today.

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service sent two appliances from Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock and reported the blaze started in an extraction unit.

An operations officer was in attendance and crews used a hose reel jet, two sets of breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters also carried out ventilation to ensure the premises was clear of smoke.

A spokesman from Bridgnorth Fire Station said: "Initially called to an Automatic Fire Alarm, the crews discovered the building was smoke-logged with the workers reporting a fire in the extraction system.

"Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were deployed into the building to search for fire spread. Thankfully none was found and so they ventilated the building.

"At the same time, crews working outside the building started to dismantle the tubing and filtration elements to extinguish the fire.

"We were supported by our colleagues from Much Wenlock and an ops officer from Telford Central.

"Once all the system was cleared of build up and the building clear of smoke, crews left it with the on site engineers."

The 'stop' message was received by fire control at about midday.
