Fire on railway embankment

A fire on the railway embankment at Chelmarsh Bank, Eardington, had to be extinguished by firefighters.

The alarm was raised at 12.50pm on Tuesday. Two fire crews from Bridgnorth and Cleobury Mortimer went to the area and tackled the fire which covered 700 square metres of railway embankment.

It was under control by 2.30pm.

The Severn Valley Railway runs its heritage steam trains through Chelmarsh.
