Woman airlifted to hospital after two-car crash on rural Shropshire road

A woman was airlifted to hospital after a crash which saw two people freed by firefighters.

Two other women were also injured in the incident at Glazeley, near Bridgnorth, on the B4363, which happened at around 2.30pm, on Thursday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said that one woman was treated at the scene before being flown to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with "potentially serious injuries", while two others were taken to the same hospital by a land ambulance after being treated for injuries not believed to be serious.

The fire service had sent two crews to the scene, where they helped to free two people who were trapped.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a two-car RTC on the B4363 in Glazeley at 2.28pm on Thursday.

"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered three patients. A woman received treatment for potentially serious injuries before being airlifted to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

"Two further women were taken to the same hospital via land ambulance after being treated for injuries not believed to be serious."
