Farmers make hay while the sun shines after shepherd's delight sunset
Red sky at night was not only shepherds' but all farmers delight this week.
For Monday's spectacular sunset, which set the sky on fire over the region, hopefully heralds three days of better weather after what has been a miserable few weeks for those trying to get their harvest in.
And sky watchers may even get the chance to see the last of the Perseid meteor shower that has been obscured by clouds over the weekend.
Farmers are definitely making hay while the sun shines, with tractors and combine harvesters busy in the fields.
A wet July has threatened this year’s harvest, with wheat, barley and hay crops affected.
Winds have also not helped with the crop pushed sideways.
