Record number of entries as runners take on the ups and downs of Bridgnorth 10K
More than 450 runners took on the ups and downs of Bridgnorth in the town's annual 10K.
The event survived a brief threat from the deluge that came with Storm Babet, but the organisers declared the route fit for the race after a final inspection on Sunday morning.
Among those lining up for the event was Pam Edwards, from Cleobury Mortimer Running Club, who was celebrating her 70th birthday by taking on the course with her daughter, Nikki Edwards.
Crowds lined High Street for the start of the race, with plenty out to show their encouragement along the route.
The first male runner home was Gary Whitehouse, from Tipton Harriers, in 35 minutes and 31 seconds, and the first woman to cross the line was Stacey Hawkins, from Lawley Running Club, in a time of 41 minutes.
