The event at St Peter’s Church in Worfield takes place on Advent Sunday at 2.30pm.

The hugely talented singing duo Belaria comprising soprano Patricia Head and tenor John Davidson have invited soprano Suzanne Millington to join them for this festive event. They will be accompanied by the highly accomplished pianist Kathy Ainsworth.

Their programme will include sacred music by composers Franck, Bach, Mozart and Benjamin Britten, Christmas music and well-known popular carols including the nation’s favourite ‘O holy night’.

Making their first visit to St Peter’s is the immensely popular Alveley Village Band under their highly experienced musical director Garry Bailey, who has directed productions for different musical societies across the Midlands. In addition he has written special arrangements for bands, orchestras and singers for both live concerts and recording sessions.

The band performs regularly at venues and events in Shropshire and surrounding areas. It has had several pieces written especially for them by well known composers. Their programme at St Peter’s will feature a miscellany of well known Christmas favourites, and for the finale they will accompany the audience in the singing of carols.

Admission is free and refreshments will be provided during the interval. A retiring collection will be taken to support the work of St Peter’s in the community.
