The accident happened on the A458 near to The Edge Activity Centre on the Shrewsbury Road at about 8am.

Ambulance, police and the fire service went to the centre amid reports that someone was trapped in the car.

Firefighters from Much Wenlock and Tweedale were able to help a casualty from the vehicle.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance said: "We were called at 8.08am to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars at the junction of Harley Hill and Shrewsbury Road in Much Wenlock."

Paramedics found one driver with minor injuries who was discharged at the scene and a second driver who did not need treatment.

The road was partially blocked with traffic backing up on roads in the area. Motorists were advised to find another route.

The crash came 14 hours after another crash in the town which left a car stranded on its side.

A fire crew from Much Wenlock was called to Barrow Street shortly after 5pm on Tuesday, where they were joined by police and an ambulance crew.

Firefighters made the vehicle safe and helped police clear the road while one casualty - who wasn't trapped - was left in the care of paramedics.
