£40,000 in grants for council to look at future of historic building
A council has been awarded nearly £40,000 to look at the restoration and future uses of a historic building.
Much Wenlock Town Council has been given £25,250 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and £12,000 from The Architectural Heritage Fund, to implement the viability study of the Guildhall.
The project will focus on identifying the restoration work needed on the building, as well as engaging the local community to find out how they would like it to be celebrated – and used to ensure its future sustainability.
The Guildhall is a Grade II* listed building which is located just off the market square in Much Wenlock.
