Shropshire Council has announced that the Trowbrook Bridge near Broadstone, between Much Wenlock and Craven Arms; and the Hardwick Forge No 2 Bridge, that carries an unclassified road over the River Rea between Prescott and Stottesdon, will both be closed next week.
The Trowbrook Bridge, which carries an unclassified road over Trow Brook, will be closed for maintenance work for two days from Monday, November 25.
The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic between 8am and 4pm each day.
The local authority said the work involves the removal of vegetation from the structure and repairs to the upstream parapet.
Then the Hardwick Forge No 2 Bridge will be closed from Wednesday, November 27, for three days.
The council said that the work also involves the removal of vegetation from the structure, and repairs to the bridge parapet.
For work to be carried out safely, Shropshire Council said it will be necessary to close the bridge to vehicular traffic for the duration of the works.
When the bridges are closed, traffic will be diverted via local roads and a signed diversion route.
Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the work.
Work to both bridges will be carried out by Shropshire Council’s maintenance contractor, Kier with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of the council.
