Experts are warning that low lying farmland and roads could flood in several areas across the regions.

They say river levels are rising as a result of recent rainfall and snow both in Shropshire and in the Welsh hills.

Farmland flooded after the River Severn burst its banks in the Welshpool area on Monday, while water levels also began to rise in the Llanymynech area on Monday evening, moving down through Maesbrook and Grew Crew.

A second alert has been issued by Buildwas in the Ironbridge area, with a peak likely to occur overnight tonight.

Smaller rivers and brooks at risk include the Tern and Perry catchments in north Shropshire, the Upper Teme in the South Shropshire and Mid Wales area, and the Worfe between Broseley and Albrighton.
