Montgomery and Minsterley fire crews responded to reports of a fire at a timber yard in SJ Construction in Marton just after 2am today.

The firefighters put the fire out by 2.50am. They discovered that the fire was a controlled burn.

A tweet from Montgomery Fire Station said: "After gaining entry it turned out to be a unattended bonfire. Please contact fire controls if having a bonfire and don't leave it unattended."
