Call for re-think on parking changes after the one hour fee is dropped
Independent councillors on Powys County Council are calling for an immediate full review of parking charges.
They say removing the one hour option in long stay car parks has led to lower footfall for businesses and motorists parking on housing estates.
It follows the introduction of a minimum charge of £2.50 in Long Stay Car Parks by the administration.
The proposal will go to full council on July 20.
It has been put forward by Councillor Gareth E. Jones, Independent For Powys councillor for Llanelwedd and seconded by Councillor Graham Breeze, Independent councillor for Welshpool Lllanerchyddol.
