Many of the businesses in the town have been busy getting prepared for the next lifting of restrictions in Wales, from six people from different households being able to meet up from Saturday, to the opening up of cafe and beer gardens from Monday (26).

Llanfyllin Town Council says it is proud of the proud it has played after Councillors Peter Lewis and Jane Carrington successfully applied for and won a grant that has allowed it to help businesses.

Town clerk, Mr Jonathan Bellingham said: "We have put some of the benches we bought with the grant money on the square for community use. These benches are there to maintain bubbles while shopping, eating and drinking and generally enjoying our town."

Businesses have been helped to use extra outside space including dropping part of the kerb through the town centre.

Each business that applied for the transforming towns money put plans forward to town council and are now well underway with their schemes.

"These include buying and building adaptation to meet the new reality we find ourselves in to successfully carry on with their business We hope you all appreciate the work that has gone into this and that you are as proud of our community as we are."
