Trio suffer substantial injuries in nightclub attack

Three people suffered substantial and multiple injuries in a nightclub attack in Mid Wales.

The two men and a woman, who were all in their 20s, left the Steam Mill night club in Newtown, which has recently been re-opened, on December 27 and encountered a group of men, also in their 20s, in Broad Street.

After suffering verbal abuse, the group following them down behind the Spar store next to St Marys Close and then onto Severn Street where the two men and the woman were attacked.

Investigation

Police have launched an investigation into the attack, which happened at 3.30am, and are appealing for information.

A police statement said: "After the attack the males and female have made their way to the car park below McDonalds.

"Once there they have been attacked again until they eventually made their way to McDonalds.

"As a result of this attack they have sustained some quite substantial and multiple injuries."
